Top of the Rock
V · MMXV
To set the stage: New York City, Spring 2015.
Rishi and Audrey are both still undergrads at NYU. Audrey is interning at Broadway Video (known for hits like "30 Rock", "SNL"); Rishi is interning at NBCUniversal.
One evening, a mutual friend arranged drinks at The Rainbow Room on the top floor of 30 Rockefeller Center.
Rishi was running late (Audrey says, "As usual."), but when the elevator doors opened and he got to the table, there was Audrey, lit up by the New York City sunset, and Rishi was at a loss for words.
Trite though it may be, it was love at first sight.
Five Years In A New York Minute
MMXV · MMXX
A walk along Fifth Avenue; long conversation in Bryant Park. Bowling in Brooklyn. Christmas parties and latkes. Graduating early. Meeting families. Changing jobs. Day trips to Philly, DC, hiking upstate, hiking in Jersey. So many museums. Summer with Sophie. Running. Boxing. Trips to the ER for dislocated shoulders. Archer!! Manhattan to Brooklyn; moving in together. Un voyage à Paris. So much great food.
日本. Many trips to Dallas and Florida. Let us repeat: so much great food — twelve Michelin Stars and counting. Listening to records in our apartment. Falling asleep on our couch. Summer with Josh. More Archer! Hang outs with friends. Many trips to Los Angeles. Losing loved ones, gaining loved ones. COVID-19; escape from New York City. Living a semi-retired life in Florida. Remote work. Fishing. Tennis. Beach walks. Photography. Quarantine. Let's repeat once again: so much great food.
She Said Yes!
XII · XI · MMXX
After nearly a year in Palm Beach Purgatory, where they'd been during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rishi asked Audrey the big question on the Green Family dock in the presence of both their families and friends. Rishi had been planning the moment for quite some time — he had designed the ring (special thanks to Caitlin for helping to create such a stunner), he had planned (and re-planned, and re-planned again), and he had ensured the health and safety of all involved — and it went exactly as planned: Audrey said yes!
